Houston Roughnecks Sign Former Draft Pick DB Keenan Isaac

Now that all the Coaches have been named, what's next for the XFL?

As Training Camp is fully underway, the Houston Roughnecks have made another impressive addition to the roster. DB Keenan Isaac has signed with the team, bringing legitimate depth and NFL experience to the table for this Houston defense.

Keenan has had quite the journey so far in football. He played all of his college ball at Alabama State, bursting onto the scene as a freshman with 27 tackles and an interception. Isaac continued to see success the next year, starting in all 11 games and posting 55 tackles.

After an injury sidelined him in 2020, Isaac returned to the gridiron in 2021, and impressed. Across his next two seasons, he posted 72 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and 17 PBU’s. His efforts earned himself opportunities at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, and the HBCU Legacy Bowl.

What makes this signing so intriguing is that Keenan Isaac was a USFL College Draft pick by the Houston Gamblers. This occurred during C.J. Johnson’s first year in Houston, under the USFL’s branding.
