Over the past few days, we’ve seen some movement in the backfields of a couple of XFL Conference teams. The St. Louis Battlehawks lost RB Mataeo Durant, while the San Antonio Brahmas re-signed RB Anthony McFarland as UFL Camp got under way.

With Hassan Hall no longer with the @XFLBrahmas, they now return one of the most electrifying stars from the #UFL‘s 2024 season.

In what is some of the biggest news of the week, the San Antonio Brahmas have finally brought back Anthony McFarland. It couldn’t have been better timing, as the Brahmas lost offseason addition Hassan Hall to the suspended list. According to OC A.J. Smith, it seems like Hall is headed towards retirement.
Now, Anthony returns at the last minute to San Antonio. McFarland was a part of a dynamic backfield in 2024, splitting time primarily with John Lovett. Anthony burst onto the scene right away, scoring the first touchdown of the year for the Brahmas.
When Wade Phillips said that RB Anthony McFarland is “faster than everybody”, he wasn’t kidding.
What a start for this @XFLBrahmas offense. Like I said, it’s going to be a lot more dynamic than last year. #UFL

With the Brahmas this year, Anthony McFarland recorded 192 rushing yards, 206 receiving yards, and 91 kick return yards. He also added four touchdowns to his stat sheet this year.
In the postseason, McFarland made an impact in the semi-finals matchup against St. Louis. He broke free for a 69 yard rushing touchdown to blow the lead open, which was something that the Battlehawks couldn’t overcome.
