Ferguson, 30, has been with the team since 2016 when was signed as a rookie free agent out of LSU. After spending 2016 on the team’s practice squad, Ferguson has played in every regular season game for the last eight seasons and added 13 postseason games.
The long snapper said the thought of finishing his career in Buffalo played a part in signing the extension.
“That definitely played a part,” Ferguson shared. “We love Buffalo…I’m up here more than I’m anywhere else throughout the year. This is home and has been for the past nine years.”
Ferguson has seen a lot of turnover since 2016 and the latest is a new special teams coordinator in Chris Tabor. The LS said he had a chance to speak with Tabor on Saturday and is eager to get back to practice.
“I just briefly spoke with him after I signed a little bit ago,” Ferguson said. “I’m excited to work with him. He’s got a lot of great experience. He brings a lot to the table. He’s worked under and with some great coaches in the league that are still coaching, and a lot of great players as well from a specialist standpoint.”
Known for his work in the Western New York community, Ferguson was Buffalo’s Salute to Service nominee in 2022 and 2023 due to his commitment to honoring active and retired military members.
