Memphis Showboats Sign Dresser Winn & Jalen Jackson

The offensive additions just keep on coming for the Memphis Showboats. They’ve signed QB Dresser Winn and RB Jalen Jackson – replacing QB Quinten Dormady and RB DeAndre Torrey who were both let go over the weekend.

After being a name thrown around for quite a while by spring football fans, Dresser Winn has finally made his way to the UFL. With the release of Dormady, Winn comes in and will look to fill in as QB3 for now. HC Ken Whisenhunt spoke to the media yesterday, making it clear that E.J. Perry and Troy Williams were both getting the reps to see who QB1 would be.

However, Winn is no stranger to pro ball, and is someone who has quite a bit of potential if given the opportunity to develop.

Dresser played all of his college football at Tennessee-Martin, with six years of action. He was a starter for the first couple of seasons he played there, showcasing his talents and beginning to make a name for himself. However, over the next couple of years, he took a backseat at QB, and actually was the team’s primary punter for a while.

Unfortunately, an injury knocked him out in 2020. He returned as the team’s backup the next season, but then took over as the starter once again in 2022. That year, he threw for 2,926 yards and 18 touchdowns. This led to some NFL interest, as Winn signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an…
