Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen some changes to position coaches in the UFL. The DC Defenders lost Cody Crill to North Texas, and in his place is Brian Braswell, who makes his way to coach the Offensive Line in DC for the 2025 UFL season.
News: The DC Defenders have added Brian Braswell at Offensive Line Coach, per @uflanalyst.
Braswell replaces Cody Crill, who left for an opportunity at North Texas.
Brian will be a familiar name to @XFLDefenders fans, recently coaching at Maryland. #UFL

Braswell is no stranger to the pro scene, nor is he new to coaching in the DC area. Braswell has spent the last four seasons at Maryland, coaching their offensive line. Brian’s offensive line unit was key in helping QB Taulia Tagovailoa become the Big-Ten all-time leader in passing yards in 2023.

On top of his collegiate success at Maryland, Brian has also gotten the job done in the NFL. He spent a couple of years with the Cincinnati Bengals, as their Assistant Offensive Line and Quality Control Coach in 2015. That year, they won the AFC North.
Interestingly enough, Brian Braswell is already familiar with spring football. He served as the Offensive Line coach for Jonathan Hayes in St. Louis, with the Battlehawks.
Now, he’ll take over a DC offensive line unit that has seen a plethora of changes over the past two seasons. Last year, it was Sean Kugler who took over for Russ Ehrenfeld midway through the season.
