Drinkwitz Gives Spring Update to Media

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz met with members of the media on Tuesday afternoon for a post-spring practice press conference.

Additionally, graduate student safety Jalen Catalon, sophomore running back Ahmad Hardy, and redshirt sophomore linebacker Josiah Trotter also met with the media on Tuesday.

“Just to hit on it, you know, and be straight-forward, we have had a few portal entries, and I anticipate we’ll have a few more,” Drinkwitz said to begin his press conference. “I don’t anticipate it’ll be more than eight, but you never know. It’s just part of what college football is right now. I think we were one over scholarship-wise. I think we were in 86, what potentially would have been 86 with all the freshmen coming in. So, after one, then we will be looking to replace portal for portal entry, just so everybody can be up to date on that. And once we have those finalized, we’ll let you know.”

Mizzou is coming off back-to-back 10-plus win seasons, posting a 21-5 record which is tied for third best in program history over a two-year stretch. The Tigers have also gone 13-1 at home, 10-1 in one-score games, 2-0 in bowl games with victories over Ohio State (2023 Cotton) and Iowa (2024 Music City) and 4-0 vs. Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC opponents during that time. MU is riding a 10-game winning streak on Faurot Field and carry a 12-game home sellout streak into its opener on Thursday, August 28.”
