Birmingham Stallions Stun Arlington Renegades In Final Seconds

Week three of the 2025 UFL season kicked off on Friday night, with the Birmingham Stallions hosting the Arlington Renegades to open their home stretch.

Birmingham is coming off an impressive win over the Michigan Panthers, getting back on track to 1-1. It wasn’t a pretty victory, but it’s one that showed some legitimate resilience.

For Arlington, they’re off to a hot 2-0 start to begin the year. Now, their week two win over Houston wasn’t very convincing – but a win is a win. The Renegades are looking to get some revenge on Birmingham, after losing to them in the UFL opener a season ago.

Let’s take a look at what all went down at Protective Stadium tonight, as it ended up being a rather disappointing effort from both teams.

First Quarter

Arlington received the football first, and had to punt it away. After a solid start from RB Kalen Ballage, Birmingham’s defense stood strong. Excellent pressure up front resulted in a couple of inaccurate throws from Luis Perez, and the Stallions took over. Marquette King had an outstanding punt, burying Birmingham inside their own 10.

Unfortunately for Birmingham, Matt Corral would not get off to a good start. On 3rd and long, he floated a deep pass for Marlon Williams, which was picked off by Joe Powell.

The Stallions held Arlington to a field goal – but mental mistakes killed them early. 12 men on the field, on the FG attempt, resulted in a first and goal situation for Arlington. A Ronnie Perkins sack did result in another stand from Birmingham, though, and it was a 3-0 ball game.

Matt Corral shook off the interception quickly. He threw a strike to Cade Johnson, which got him in a rhythm through the air, and on the ground. However, Birmingham would make another mistake. A few yards away from the endzone, Jace Sternberger fumbled the ball, with Myles Dorn forcing it out as he was ready to score. Steven Jones recovered, and Arlington took over.
