The Chicago Bears on Thursday signed five selections from the 2025 NFL Draft – tight end Colston Loveland, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, defensive back Zah Frazier, offensive lineman Luke Newman and running back Kyle Monangai.
Loveland was selected by the Bears in the first round (No. 10 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Loveland started 24-of-39 career games over three seasons of action at the University of Michigan (2022-24), totaling 117 receptions for 1,466 yards (12.5 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. A two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection for the Wolverines, earning first-team honors in 2023, Loveland led Michigan in receiving with a career-high 56 catches last season, en route to receiving Second-Team All-America recognition. In 2023, Loveland led the Wolverines with 64 receiving yards on three receptions as Michigan claimed victory over Washington in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Hyppolite was selected by Chicago in the fourth round (No. 132 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Hyppolite appeared in 51 career games over five seasons at the University of Maryland (2020-24), totaling 236 tackles (138 solo), three sacks, one interception, six passes defensed and one forced fumble. Last season, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native secured a career-high 66 tackles, leading the Terrapins’ defense.
Frazier was selected in the fifth round (No. 169 overall) by the Bears in the 2025 NFL Draft. Frazier secured First-Team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2024 after leading the AAC with a career-high six interceptions, a single-season program record at UTSA. After starting his career at Southern Illinois (2019), then spending two seasons at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College (2020-21), the Cedartown, Ga., native appeared in 29 games over three seasons of action at UTSA (2022-24), starting 10-of-12 games for the Roadrunners, and accumulating the second-most interceptions among all FBS defenders.
Newman was selected by the Bears in the sixth round (No. 195 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Newman started all 12 games at left guard for Michigan State in 2024, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference recognition. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Newman spent his first four collegiate seasons at Holy Cross (2020-23), starting 37-straight games at left tackle from 2021-23, earning First-Team FCS All-America honors each of his final two seasons, as well as First-Team All-Patriot League all three…
