Stallions Release Jalen Morton, Alex McGough Eyes UFL Return

As the Birmingham Stallions continue to sort through the wild west of quarterback changes, they’ve once again made a move. Jalen Morton has been released from the roster, which continues to confirm what we’ve been hearing: that Alex McGough will be making his way back to the team this week.

Jalen Morton joined Birmingham as they were in need of a third quarterback this past weekend against Houston. With Andrew Peasley going down with an injury, Morton battled for the QB2 job with J’Mar Smith this past week. Given the success of Smith in that game, it’s no surprise to see Jalen as the release from that group heading into week eight. He’ll likely head back to the AF1, having an outstanding year with the Southwest Kansas Storm.

Alex McGough To Return

What makes all of this so interesting: Alex McGough. We’re told that Alex is coming back from IR this week, after leaving in week two on the very first snap of the game, with a shoulder injury.

McGough needs no introduction. He’s the former USFL MVP that led this Stallions team to a Championship victory in 2023, and also contributed in 2022.
