The Story Behind the Ravens’ Schedule Release Video

After landing on the idea in February, the Ravens Productions crew started shooting on NFL Draft weekend with first-round rookie Malaki Starks and spent over 200 hours filming. Days of editing then ensued ahead of Wednesday’s release.

“It was rewarding to work on a project that was both creatively and technically challenging and brought the whole building together on something that resonated with an audience and brought people joy,” said Eddie Coughlan, the Ravens’ Senior Director of Production & Documentary. “This place is very special and it’s amazing to be here with so many talented people.”

A total of 16 players participated in the filming, in addition to General Manager Eric DeCosta, Head Coach John Harbaugh, and other members of the front office. The Ravens even got five baby goats from Clark’s Elioak Farm to star in a scene with DeCosta.

“I had a lot of ideas for scenes and our cinematographers ran with every idea and made it possible,” said Shelby Lasso, the Ravens’ lead on the project. “I can’t thank Eddie Coughlan, Nick Modisett, and JT Santos enough for their support throughout this process. Since we started filming three weeks before we got the actual schedule, we had to add all the games in the post-production process, which obviously isn’t easy, but Brent Airey and Keith Jackson are the best at what they do and took our entire video to the highest level!

“We also had the opportunity to partner with Apple TV, as well as the production company Fifth Season. The collaboration presented an opportunity to tap into a culturally relevant show, with the ability to expand the reach of the video to not only NFL fans but also ‘Severance’ and Apple TV’s massive audience.”
