Stallions Activate Matt Corral, Lose Three Players

The Birmingham Stallions have added to their QB confusion this week, re-activating Matt Corral to the roster – but also placing Alex McGough back on IR, according to Steve Irvine.

Corral has been on IR since week six, since suffering a hip injury back in week four. Matt took over in week two, after McGough went down with an injury on the first snap against Michigan. Corral ended up leading the Stallions to three wins, against the Renegades, Panthers, and Roughnecks.

The original diagnosis for Matt made it seem like he could come back after a week or two, but he was then placed on IR – and has missed the last six games.

Now, he returns – but at a cost. Alex McGough, who was re-activated from IR a couple weeks ago, has once again been placed on the list. McGough was the team’s starter to begin the year, but his potential return can now be put to bed.

With Corral back on the active roster, it’ll be interesting to see how Skip Holtz approaches Sunday’s playoff game.

On the other hand, the Stallions have brought back LS Ryan Langan off of IR. Langan got injured back in week three, and missed the rest of the regular season. He was replaced by William Mote, who was then released for Gage King.

King is no longer on the roster, though, with Langan back in action. Ryan has been Birmingham’s trusty long snapper for four seasons now, and it’s great news to see him back for the postseason run.

In other news, OL Jarron Jones is also not on the roster anymore. Jones went to IR back in week three, having played limited snaps (33) in a rotational role the first couple of games. The veteran…
