The UFL’s regular season is officially complete, and the TV ratings are in. According to Mike Mitchell, the ratings from this weekend are as follows:
DC vs. St. Louis (FOX): 670,000
Michigan vs. Houston (ESPN): 398,000
San Antonio vs. Arlington (ABC): 740,000
Memphis vs. Birmingham (FOX): 625,000
At first glance, none of these numbers really pop off the charts – but with a week 10 full of meaningless games, it’s good to see the league maintain some stability.
Friday night’s outing between St. Louis and DC ended up seeing 670,000 tune in – the highest number for a Friday night since week four. Considering that there was a 40+ minute rain delay, that’s not a bad rating at all. There’s plenty of room for growth in that Friday window for FOX, but they had a couple of stronger outings to close the year, which is encouraging to see.
Saturday’s matchup on ESPN has an asterisk, as the first half of the game was only featured on ESPN+/ESPNews, which do not feature streaming numbers available. When the second half was on ESPN, it averaged 398,000 viewers. It’s a low rating, but it’s tough to expect much when the first half of the game wasn’t even aired on the network that was supposed to broadcast the game.
On Sunday, San Antonio and Arlington faced off in a meaningless week 10 matchup, one that was lopsided throughout most of the afternoon. It averaged 740,000 viewers on ABC. While it’s one of ABC’s lowest rated games of the season, given the circumstances, it isn’t surprising.
Finally, FOX’s afternoon matchup between Memphis and Birmingham was a blowout, and another game that didn’t…
