The UFL has named DC Defenders Offensive Coordinator Fred Kaiss as their Assistant Coach of the Year. Kaiss has been with this DC franchise the last three seasons, and after another stellar year offensively, earns an award that is incredibly well deserved.
Fred Kaiss and the DC Defenders are Championship bound, boasting one of the top offenses in the UFL. Kaiss and his squad posted a league-best 3,454 offensive yards in 2025, averaging 246.5 passing yards/game – a UFL record.
Fred’s leaned into his veteran QB this year, Jordan Ta’amu – who was a league leader in multiple passing categories. Jordan played at a high level this season, largely due to the fact that he’s been able to play for Kaiss and in his system the last three years.
On top of that, Kaiss has seen plenty of production from a number of offensive players. WR Cornell Powell led the UFL in receiving touchdowns, while WR Chris Rowland earned All-UFL honors. Meanwhile, TE Briley Moore and RB Deon Jackson were two of the top players in their respective categories.
DC’s offensive onslaught has been on display all year long, highlighted by a 37-33 win over Arlington (W5), their 33-30 thriller over Arlington (W8), and a 32-24 win over San Antonio (W7).
Now, Fred Kaiss and this group…
