The Birmingham Stallions and their UFL to NFL pipeline continues. CB Mario Goodrich has signed with the Denver Broncos, following a strong campaign with Birmingham this past UFL season.
Mario was an offseason addition to this secondary unit, and he immediately made an impact as a starter coming out of Training Camp.
However, Goodrich suffered a lower leg injury just two games into the year – and missed the following five weeks of action.
Goodrich returned in week seven, in a comeback win over the Houston Roughnecks. He left his mark in that one, forcing two fumbles in his return – including one that ended up sealing the deal during their 19-point comeback.
Mario finished the UFL season with 15 tackles and four PBU’s, starting in five of seven games played (including their playoff matchup against Michigan). He was one of the better CB’s in coverage, with a 66.3 Coverage Grade via PFF.
Goodrich is no stranger to the NFL. He played with the Philadelphia Eagles for a couple of seasons, prior to an opportunity with the New York Giants. Mario totaled five tackles while playing in the NFL with Philadelphia.
Now, Mario Goodrich gets another opportunity in the NFL, this time with the Denver Broncos. It’s worth noting that the Broncos also worked out Renegades CB Jayden Price last week.
Mario is the third UFL to NFL signing of the offseason. You can stay up to date with all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
