Another Houston Roughnecks athlete is headed to the NFL. TE Geor’Quarius Spivey is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Michael Del Negro.
Spivey is no stranger to the NFL, or the Chiefs organization. He actually spent some time with the Chiefs in camp a year ago, prior to making his way to the UFL.
Geor’Quarius Spivey was one of Houston’s UFL College Draft picks, back in 2024. He ended up signing with the team heading into camp, and saw some action, starting in four of nine games played.
Spivey was primarily a blocking tight end for the Roughnecks in 2025, but did record seven receptions for 65 yards. He had a positive Pass Blocking Grade of 68.1, per PFF.
One of Spivey’s biggest moments of the year wasn’t a great one, though. He dropped a screen pass on 4th and 2 in week eight, against Michigan – a loss that ultimately cost them a potential playoff berth.
Regardless, Geor’Quarius Spivey is a big target, and one that Kansas City is familiar with. He played his college ball at Mississippi State and TCU, and now has a full year of pro experience under his belt.
Spivey is the second Roughneck to sign an NFL contract this offseason. CB Damon Arnette made his way to the Houston Texans earlier this week. Without the national platform that the UFL provided Spivey with, who knows if this would have been possible.
