The Michigan Panthers have made a plethora of moves in UFL free agency to kick things off in July, as the first team to sign any players. Among those signings included CB Kaleb Hayes, who joins the Michigan Panthers as the first free agent to sign with a UFL team this offseason.
Kaleb began his college career at Oregon State, playing in 17 games there. Across that span, he totaled 46 tackles, starting nine outings.
Hayes transferred to BYU in 2021, which proved to be a solid career move. He earned Phil Steele All-Independent First Team Defense honors in 2021, and posted 67 tackles and 19 PBUโs across two seasons of action with the Cougars.
This led to an UDFA opportunity with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, but he was waived at the end of training camp. Hayes landed in New York with the Giants, staying there until August of 2024. During this past NFL preseason, Hayes was picked up by the Denver Broncos โ and then signed by the Green Bay Packers on a futures deal.
With Kaleb Hayes being released by Green Bay in May, he now joins the Michigan Panthers for UFL Training Camp coming up next spring. Michigan had Hayesโ rights automatically, as he was most recently with the Packers. Kaleb is a speedy DB, at 6โ0โ while running an unofficial 4.31 40 yard dash.
Itโs no secret that the Panthers need to make improvements to the secondary. After they gave up 58 points in the UFL Championship to DC, GM Steve Kazor is well aware of the changes that need to be made in that position group.
