The re-signings just keep on coming for the Michigan Panthers. They’ve officially brought back OT Cam Carter and DT T.J. Carter for the 2026 UFL season, continuing the trend of bringing back players from this past campaign.
General Manager Steve Kazor is wasting no time in re-signing their standouts. The Panthers have primarily re-signed a lot of starters, but have also looked to retain rotational pieces who served the team well.
OT Cam Carter
The Michigan Panthers have re-signed Cam Carter, who was acquired via trade this past season. After week two, the Panthers traded WR Marcus Simms for Carter – who was inactive the first few games.
However, over time he finally became a rotational piece – and was a quality piece at that. Cam ended up playing 141 snaps during the regular season and playoffs, allowing five pressures and a sack across that span. Carter was excellent in blocking for the run, with a 70.6 Grade via PFF on those snaps. Cam set up a couple of blocks for scoring plays in their playoff win over the Stallions.
Heading towards the 2026 UFL season, Cam Carter is someone that Michigan could utilize more next year. He’s got plenty of experience, with the New Jersey Generals and Houston Roughnecks.
DT T.J. Carter
T.J. Carter has been with the Michigan Panthers, on and off, for the past few years. He spent the 2022 USFL season in Michigan, posting solid numbers with 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Carter was a key piece to that defense that year, starting in six of nine games played.
This earned him some NFL opportunities with the Saints and Rams, ultimately sticking with the Rams from 2022-2023.
He returned to Michigan for the 2024 UFL season – totaling 8 tackles and a sack as a rotational piece. He earned an NFL opportunity with the Arizona Cardinals, where he spent the 2024 NFL preseason.
