Coby Bryant Carrying ‘Underdog’ Mentality Into Year 4

“When I got my first start there, that’s when I knew who I am and the position that fits me best.”

Bryant got his first start in Week 7 of 2024 and thinking back on what he was able to accomplish last year, Bryant said, “I liked everything. Obviously, there’s room for improvement in every aspect, but I have to keep going. Last year was just me scratching the surface, I’ve got more to showcase and it’s exciting to see.”

With knowing he has so much more to show for himself, Bryant credits his “underdog” mentality.

“That’s just who I am. Always being an underdog, it’s just how I was brought up to play, give it your all. That’s who I am.”

And his teammate Love can vouch for him.

“Coby’s just a dude that has a chip on his shoulder. I think I’ve said this before, but kind of like Michael Jordan making everything personal, that documentary? That’s Coby every day. If you slight him, if you talk about him a certain way, that’s fuel to his fire and that’s what gets him going. And so Coby, I mean similar path to me, played multiple positions kind of past a bunch of years and he settled in to be kind of a rock for us and it’s exciting to see him just be a leader and definitely a play maker. I think when Coby’s on the field, he’s going to be around the ball. That’s just been the nature of his game the past six, seven years. Even dating back to college.”
