The UFL to NFL pipeline is picking up for the Memphis Showboats. Center Alec Lindstrom is signing with the New England Patriots, following a workout with the Cleveland Browns yesterday.
Alec Lindstrom has spent the last two years in the UFL with Memphis. In 2025, he started in all 10 games at center, proving to be one of the team’s top linemen. Alec was a leader for that O-Line unit, boasting a strong 73.9 Pass Blocking Grade via PFF – allowing just two sacks on the year.
The New England Patriots have been adding some UFL talent as of late. They recently signed Michigan Panthers LB R.J. Moten, and now bring in Lindstrom to provide some offensive line depth heading towards preseason’s kickoff. New England also added DC Defenders OT Yasir Durant earlier this summer.
In 2024, Alec appeared in eight games with the Showboats. Interestingly enough, Alec started out as a guard in John DeFilippo’s offense. However, he was moved to the starting center during the final two weeks – which proved to be a fantastic move. The run game improved drastically, and the protection was much better compared to the previous eight weeks.
Following the UFL season, Alec signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He was cut in August, but landed in New York with the Jets – and remained on their practice squad through November.
Now, Lindstrom gets another NFL opportunity – this time with the Patriots. Just yesterday, Showboats edge rusher Jaylon Allen signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
