Braylon Sanders is staying home. The DC Defenders WR signed with the Washington Commanders today, remaining in the DMV to play professional football.
Sanders had a tremendous campaign in the UFL this past season. Despite not being utilized much early on, he burst onto the scene after Ty Scott went down with an injury – proving to be a go to target for Jordan Ta’amu.
During the regular season, Sanders racked up 332 yards and three touchdowns; averaging a ridiculous 25.5 yards per reception.
He continued to get better from week to week – channeling some of the chemistry he had previously with QB Jordan Ta’amu – as the two spent time together at Ole Miss in college.
In the postseason, Braylon produced as well, with four receptions for 49 yards as the DC Defenders won the 2025 UFL Championship game.
Sanders received a ton of NFL interest following the UFL season. He had workouts with Cardinals, Packers, Commanders, Broncos, and Panthers – before ultimately signing with Washington.
Braylon Sanders is the fourth Defenders player to sign an NFL contract. Earlier this week, OL Liam Fornadel inked a deal with the New York Jets.
Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
