Mario Goodrich & Yasir Durant See NFL Roster Movement

San Antonio Brahmas Sign DB Jalen Elliott

With the NFL’s preseason getting underway, we’ve seen 36 UFL players sign NFL contracts so far. Of those 36, two have either been moved to a different team – or placed on IR.

First up, Stallions CB Mario Goodrich has been released by the Denver Broncos. In turn, he was rewarded to the New York Jets off of waivers.

With Jaylin Simpson’s injury in New York, Goodrich was picked up immediately by the Jets as his replacement. Mario spent this past UFL season with the Stallions – and was a key piece in their secondary when healthy.

Secondly, Defenders OT Yasir Durant has been placed on IR with the Patriots. He was the first DC player to sign an NFL contract this offseason, returning to New England – a place he called home for a couple of years.

After Durant’s injury, the Patriots turned to the UFL for some more O-Line depth: signing Memphis Showboats C Alec Lindstrom.

As the preseason gets underway over the coming days, there will be plenty of UFL to NFL signees to keep an eye on. Some might get released/injured as we saw here; while we’re also expecting several more to sign NFL contracts.
