Another San Antonio Brahmas player is headed to the NFL. TE Thomas Gordon, who was acquired by the team late in the UFL season, has signed with the Chicago Bears.
Gordon was eligible for this past NFL draft. After going undrafted, he ended up landing with the Brahmas down the stretch of the UFL season.
Thomas played 12 snaps in the final game of the year with San Antonio. He was targeted twice, but didn’t record any receptions.
Gordon played all of his college ball at Northwestern, recording 529 receiving yards and two touchdowns across that span. Thomas is a versatile TE, having performed at a high level in both the pass blocking and run blocking schemes run at Northwestern the last two years.
Coming out of college, Gordon was invited to the Chicago Bears rookie mini-camp, but went unsigned then. Following the UFL’s season, Thomas worked out with the Bears again – and also had a workout with the Dolphins earlier this week.
Now, he officially signs his first NFL contract – heading back to the Windy City. Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
