New England Patriots Sign Memphis Showboats RB Deneric Prince

The Latest USFL Trademark News — Which Teams Could Return in 2022?

With the NFL preseason underway, the UFL signings just keep on rolling in. Memphis Showboats RB Deneric Prince is signing with the New England Patriots, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports.

Prince is no stranger to the NFL, or pro football. He spent this past UFL season with the Memphis Showboats, as one of the key signings from new GM Jim Monos.

Deneric was a playmaker all year long for the Showboats. He was RB1 essentially the entire season, starting in nine of 10 games played. Prince rushed for 340 yards and two touchdowns on the year, averaging 3.2 yards per carry.

He was one of the few consistent forces offensively for Memphis – a team that went through multiple QB and coaching changes throughout the season. Prince added 109 receiving yards to his resume, alongside 13 kickoff returns for 227 yards.

Prior to his time in the UFL, Deneric spent a couple of years with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins. The former Tulsa product now lands in New England – a team that has signed a few UFL players already: Defenders OT Yasir Durant, Panthers LB R.J. Moten, and Showboats C Alec Lindstrom.
