University of South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is one of 27 college football quarterbacks named to the Manning Award Watch List presented by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, it was announced today.
Sellers, a 6-3, 240-pound redshirt sophomore from Florence, S.C., was the 2024 National Freshman Offensive Player of the Year as selected by the Football Writers of America. He was also a 2024 Freshman All-American, an SEC All-Freshman selection and a third-team All-SEC pick by the league’s 16 coaches. He threw for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and added 674 yards and seven touchdowns rushing in his first season as a starting signal-caller.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates’ postseason performances in its balloting. The winner will again be selected by a voting panel, which includes national media and each of the Mannings, after the postseason.

This year we have another great group on our preseason Watch List; in October, we’ll review the transfers and other newcomers and then boost the Watch List with the best from that group.”
Inclusion on the Watch List is not necessary for the quarterbacks to be selected for the honor. Transfers and other newcomers at schools were not eligible for the preseason Watch List, but additional quarterbacks will be added to the Watch List during the season. Finalists will be selected prior to the postseason and the winner will be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
