DURHAM – The Voice of the Blue Devils, David Shumate, sat down with redshirt senior defensive tackle Ja’Mion Franklin for a brief question and answer session.

DS: The sack numbers the last couple of games have been incredible, you guys have nearly doubled the season total. How fun is that and how have you guys done that?

JF: It is really fun. We work really hard in our run defense, so it gives us opportunities to rush the passer. It means a lot. We are working hard and executing, while hitting on all cylinders with our defense and affecting the quarterback.

DS: We have a few more games to play this season, but with your career coming full circle, with head coach Mike Elko recruiting you at Notre Dame and now coming here to Duke. How was the reality and expectation of playing for him been?

JF: It has been great. It has been everything that I have expected. I have enjoyed having a full season under him. We come in at half and he knows all the right adjustments and things to do at the break. It has been everything I expected playing for Coach Elko.

DS: Who has the best celebration on defense this season?

JF: I would say I have the best celebration so far. I think that I set the precedent and DeWayne [Carter] steals all of my celebrations. Whenever you see DeWayne ask him where he got his celebrations from last game, and I am pretty sure he will say he stole them from me.

DS: Following up on that, do you like to have a repeat or are you planning on switching them…
