Going into the 2022 college football season, Tar Heels Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the North Carolina roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Mack Brown this season.

Kamari Moralescomes into the 2022 season after having his best year playing in the Carolina blue. Morales, will be entering his junior season and looking to produce similar routes that led to celebrating in the end-zone. Morales also played the most he’s ever had since becoming a Tar Heel, appearing in 13 games last season.

In those 13 games, Morales tied for second-most receiving touchdowns on the team with five. Those five touchdowns are also the most by a tight end in a Carolina uniform since 2002 when Bobby Blizzard was keeping opposing defenses up at night. He also had 220 yards off 24 receptions, truly stepping up after losing major offensive weapons in the prior draft.

Looking ahead, this could be a year that brings Morales more into the spotlight or back to the bench with more in-depth tight end room this season.

Depth Chart Overview

Morales heads into this season as one of the biggest question marks on the offense. He had a solid outing last season, but with the emergence of Bryson Nesbit the snaps played could see a decline in snaps on the field.
