According to former Kentucky linebacker Trevin Wallace, one of his formal meetings at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine was with the Chargers, per Cowboys Report’s Tom Downey.
Wallace is a physical, lengthy and athletic backer with good speed, range and finishing power. He is also a core special teamer. He blocked a field goal and took it back for a touchdown in 2021.
A member of The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman’s Freak List, Wallace was reported to run 22 miles per hour on the GPS and vertical jump 38.5 inches. His power clean is up to 380 pounds and he squats almost 600 pounds.
Wallace finished his college career with 155 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Wallace projects as a mid-round pick.
The Chargers’ linebacker room needs some retooling. Kenneth Murray will be a free agent. Eric Kendricks could be a cap casualty. So, drafting a guy like Wallace, who has the tools to become a quality NFL player, makes sense.
