Saints to visit with New Hampshire RB Dylan Laube

The New Orleans Saints have scheduled their third Top-30 prospect visit of the NFL draft process, this time setting up a meeting with New Hampshire running back Dylan Laube, according to Destin Adams of A to Z Sports. The Saints previously had scheduled meetings with Northern Iowa defensive tackle Khristian Boyd and Western Michigan defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland.

Arguably Laube’s best season was back in 2022, in which he had 245 rushes for 1,205 yards and 15 touchdowns, as well as 49 receptions for 464 yards and an additional 2 touchdowns. He is a dual-purpose satellite back who works well outside the tackles, and has NFL-worthy size at 5-foot-10 and 207 pounds, with 29 and 3/8-inch arm length. He’s an excellent receiver who catches away from his body and rarely loses his footing.

He also performed well at the NFL Scouting Combine, ultimately posting an 8.74 Relative Athletic Score:

His combine scores among his peers at the running back position were all positive as well:

  • 40-yard dash: 4.54 seconds (13th)
  • 10-yard split: 1.52 seconds (T-4th)
  • Vertical jump: 37.00 inches (7th)
  • Broad jump: 9 feet 10 inches (13th)
  • 3-cone drill: 6.84 seconds (3rd)
  • 20-yard shuttle: 4.02 seconds (1st, tied-3rd among all positions)
  • Bench press: 23 reps (T-5th)

Overall, Laube is generally projected to be drafted in the range of late Day 2 to early Day 3 of the NFL draft, right around the top-100 mark according to the NFL Mock Draft Database. So probably a fourth-round pick. He will be an extremely intriguing prospect to watch throughout the draft process, as his physical talents and performance at the combine could elevate his draft stock immensely.
