It was a road win in the SEC against a ranked team, but Texas’ narrow victory in Nashville against Vanderbilt wasn’t enough to keep Texas at fifth in the AP Top 25 Rankings.
After soundly beating rival Florida State 36-14, the Miami Hurricanes have jumped one spot above Texas to No. 5. The Horns are now No. 6 in the AP Poll, the same spot they occupy in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The top four teams, Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State and Penn State all remained the same.
The Aggies moved up four spots to No. 10, jumping Clemson and Iowa State. A&M defeated LSU 38-23, who tumbled eight spots to No. 16.
No. 8 Notre Dame is back in the top ten after blowing out Navy. BYU also makes its first appearance in the top ten at No. 9. Missouri and Illinois both fell to the bottom of the rankings, but both are still ranked after losses.
