The big drama of the week in college football involves USC. It just took another step forward, but it is far from over.
Jordan Addison, the elite receiver who helped the Pittsburgh Panthers win the ACC championship last year, has formally entered the transfer portal.
Addison submitted his portal request in time. There was a lag time in which Pittsburgh had to process the request before the portal entrance could be officially formalized and announced. Tuesday, the formal entry into the portal was made.
Pete Thamel, who has been closely following this story for ESPN, took note of the development:
Thamel’s follow-up reporting from his sources indicated that no decision was clear or imminent. Everyone might have an opinion on where Addison will go, but it is noteworthy that his entry into the portal was not accompanied by a clear belief from college football insiders that USC is the heavy or overwhelming favorite.
The best thing to do: Sit back and allow the process to unfold.
We will keep you posted.
