Kevin O’Connell Provides Injury Updates on Irv Smith, Jr. & Dalvin Tomlinson

Defensively, Tomlinson exited during the third quarter against the Cardinals and was declared out for the remainder of the game with a calf injury.

O’Connell said the Vikings will see how Tomlinson progresses and will make a determination later in the week on his availability for this Sunday’s game at Washington.

“With the type of season he’s had and the impact he’s had on our team, I want to make sure D.T. gets back healthy enough to really sustain now. We’re through the bye and we’re going to have a 10-game stretch here where we’re fighting to play some extra football, and we want to make sure we’re not pushing him too fast too soon,” O’Connell said. “He’s shown to attack that rehab, and we’re certainly not going to stand in the way of him trying to make it this weekend.”
