The Tigers gave it everything they had but ultimately fell short on Saturday night in Starkville.
Auburn dropped a heartbreaking game to Mississippi State in overtime, 39-33.
The Tigers trailed Mississippi State, 24-6 at halftime, but would outscore the Bulldogs 27-15 in the second half. Interim head coach Carnell Williams is proud of his team, but takes full responsibility for the loss on Saturday.
“We have just got to get better with the discipline part of it,” Williams said after the game. “We did some things that will get you beat and that is starting with myself. It is not on all of these kids. They fought their tails off. I could have done some things better–I really could have.”
