Seahawks LB Jon Rhattigan Designated To Return To Practice

Seahawks linebacker Jon Rhattigan has been designated to return to practice, a significant step in his return from the knee injury that cut short his rookie season.

Rhattigan, who initially signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie out of Army in 2021, appeared in 14 games as a rookie, playing a key role on special teams, before suffering a torn ACL late in the season.

Rhattigan can practice for up to three weeks without taking up a spot on the 53-man roster, but a move would have to be made to add him to the roster before he can return to game action. Rhattigan’s eventual return would give the Seahawks another playmaker on special teams as well as inside linebacker depth, two things Seattle lost when Cullen Gillaspia suffered a knee injury in Week 9 that landed him on injured reserve.
