Transfer Running Back – Stanford University Athletics

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford’s Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football Troy Taylor announced the addition of undergraduate transfer running back Justin Williams-Thomas today. Williams-Thomas will enroll for the winter quarter and has four years of eligibility remaining.
 
Williams-Thomas is Stanford’s first undergraduate transfer during the Transfer Portal era, and just its fourth total transfer dating back to the 2015 season (graduate OLB Brennan Scarlett from Cal in 2015; graduate QB Isaiah Sanders from Air Force in 2020; and graduate S Patrick Fields from Oklahoma in 2022). Williams-Thomas is also Stanford’s first undergraduate transfer in program history to enroll mid-year.

• Played in three games during the 2022 season at Tennessee
• Rushed 11 times for 37 yards
• Named to Dean’s List his first semester on campus
• Was a four-star running back according to 247Sports Composite, ESPN, Rivals and On3
• Ranked No. 153 overall in the class by Rivals and No. 11 at running back
• The No. 17 players in Georgia according to On3
• Prepped at East Paulding HS and was coached by Billy Shackelford
• Paulding County Player of the Year in 2021
• Team captain
• Named 5-6A Offensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2020
• Georgia Class 6A Honorable Mention All-State in 2020
• Finished his senior season with 2,116 all-purpose yards, 1,896 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns
• Tallied 1,368 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior in 2020
• Also ran track in high school, in addition to playing basketball and lacrosse
