Bucs WR Chris Godwin named Ed Block Courage Award recipient

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is this year’s recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, as voted by his fellow teammates.

The award, named in memory of Ed Block – a humanitarian and former athletic trainer for the Baltimore Colts – is presented annually to one player from each team, as voted on by their teammates. The award recipients symbolize professionalism, strength, dedication, and act as community role models. Each year, the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation honors players who exemplify those traits and display a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.

Godwin suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 last season, ending his 2021 campaign. Despite such a serious injury, Godwin worked hard to make it back to the starting lineup by Week 1 of the 2022 season.

He then set a single-season franchise record with 110 receptions (playoffs included), and notched the third 1,000-yard season of his career.
