Vols in the NFL - Week 10


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Week 10 in the NFL was highlighted by former Vols going head-to-head in some high-pressure matchups.

All eyes were on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs made his first start for the franchise and led his squad to its fifth consecutive victory. In his second game with the team, Dobbs completed 23 of 34 passes for 268 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He also added 44 yards and a score on the ground to lead the Vikings to a 27-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Vikings teammate Theo Jackson added some help on defense and special teams, playing 25 total snaps and tallying three combined tackles in the win.

On the other side of the field, Alvin Kamara helped lead a second-half charge for the Saints. The veteran running back finished with 42 rushing yards and seven catches for 33 receiving yards while converting a pair of two-point conversions. 

New Orleans cornerback Alontae Taylor put together another solid performance, as well, posting four solo tackles and one assisted tackle, a tackle for loss and two pass breakups in the loss.

Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton was also stellar on the defensive side of the ball. Sutton compiled five solo tackles, one quarterback hit, a tackles for loss and a pass breakup in the Lions’ 41-38 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Derek Barnett – Eagles – DE

Did not play.

Matthew Butler – Raiders – DT

On practice squad.

Morgan Cox – Titans – LS

Executed seven snaps during the Titans’ loss to the Buccaneers. 

Joshua Dobbs – Vikings – QB

Made his first start for the Vikings and completed 23 of 34 passes for 268 yards with an additional 44 rushing yards. Passed for a touchdown and rushed for another during the Vikings’ 27-19 win against the Saints.

Princeton Fant – Cowboys -TE

On practice squad.

Hendon Hooker – Lions – QB

Did not play.

Jalin Hyatt – Giants – WR

Played 17 offensive snaps and was targeted once during the Giants’ loss to the Cowboys.

Theo Jackson – Vikings – DB

Played 19 special teams snaps, six defensive snaps and made three combined tackles in the Vikings’ 27-19 win over the Saints. 

Jauan Jennings – 49ers – WR

Notched one catch for eight yards in the 49ers’…
