According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison is expected to play on Sunday night against the Denver Broncos.
Mattison suffered a concussion against the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday and felt like a longshot to play early in the week. Head coach Kevin O’Connell believed that Mattison could playas he was progressing through the concussion protocol well.
When he does suit up on Sunday, he will become just the second player this season to play the week after suffering a concussion, joining Brock Purdy.
The Broncos have the worst rush defense in the National Football League ( and run an offense very similar in structure to the Miami Dolphins, who put up 70 points on the Broncos in week three. Mattison theoretically could be in for a great game with the circumstances as they are.
The game between the Vikings and Broncos will kick off at 7:15 p.m. CST.
