Oklahoma and Brent Venables continue pursuit for first LB commit

Oklahoma’s linebacker core is solidified as the Sooners prepare for the 2024 season. There’s star power with Danny Stutsman and some exciting young prospects behind him. Guys like Lewis Carter, Kip Lewis, and Samuel Omosigho are candidates to take leaps this year.

On the recruiting front, Oklahoma doesn’t have a linebacker committed for the 2025 recruiting class. The defensive staff would like to change that before signing day, so it makes sense that they recently offered three-star linebacker Mark Iheanachor this week.

Iheanachor is a talented two-player for his Narbonne High School football team. While he put together a solid junior season at tailback, nearly every school is recruiting him as a linebacker for college ball.

The Sooners feel the same way and would love to have him play inside backer in Norman.
