The 2024 United Football League season wrapped up on Sunday afternoon and attention now turns to which UFL players could be signed by NFL teams.
We’ve put together a quick list of 15 players to keep an eye on in the coming weeks as NFL clubs prepare for training camp.
Birmingham quarterback Adrian Martinez (24) threw for 1,749 yards and 15 touchdowns against just three interceptions this spring. His 58.5% competition percentage is lower than NFL teams would like, but Martinez also led the league with 528 rushing yards (and he scored three times on the ground). Martinez was the league MVP and led the Stallions to a championship win.
The most accurate quarterback in the UFL this spring was Luis Perez (29), who completed 67% of his passes for 18 touchdowns against four interceptions. Martinez and Perez might be the most likely QBs to draw interest from NFL teams.
Among running backs, Jacob Saylors (24) led the UFL with 461 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Not far behind were De’Veon Smith (29) with 451 yards and three scores and John Lovett (24) with 422 yards and five scores. Saylors and Lovett might be the most likely to draw interest given their age.
At wide receiver, Hakeem Butler (28) led the league with 652 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Butler was followed by Jontre Kirklin (25) with 614 yards and three touchdowns and Justin Hall (25) with 603 yards and three scores.
On defense, linebacker Willie Harvey (28) led the league with 78 tackles and he also added four sacks. Pass rusher Breeland Speaks (28) led the UFL with 9.5 sacks, followed by seven sacks each from Carlos Davis (27) and Malik Fisher (25).
Four players tied for the UFL lead with three interceptions. Among those four players, safeties Markel Roby (24) and Kai Nacua (29) also broke up a league-high eight passes. Roby likely gets the edge because of his age, and defensive back Kameron Kelly (27) could get a look as well.
On special teams, kicker Andre Szmyt (25) converted 90.5% of his field goals (19-of-21) with a long of 61 yards. Meanwhile, receiver Chris Rowland (26) led the league with 1,224 kickoff return yards while scoring four all-purpose touchdowns.
We’ll see if any of these players land with NFL teams this summer.
