It was an incredible day for the Minnesota Vikings. Outside of Minnesota’s first series, where fullback C.J. Ham fumbled, the Vikings thoroughly dominated the ballgame. The Vikings went into New York and walked away with a 28-6 victory over the Giants.
Quarterback Sam Darnold had an excellent debut. He completed his first 11 passes of the day. The veteran gunslinger threw for 208 yards and two scores while throwing an interception that wasn’t overly his fault. Aaron Jones produced on the ground with 94 rushing yards, including a touchdown. While Jordan Addison re-injured his ankle, Justin Jefferson and Jalen Nailor did their thing to help Darnold.
Defensively, the Vikings were a terror. There was constant pressure facing Daniel Jones and Brian Flores constantly put his players in a good position. Andrew Van Ginkel was tremendous and even had a pick-six. Harrison Smith also intercepted a pass on Sunday.
With the Vikings starting 1-0, here are some of the best reactions from X (formerly Twitter).
