49ers Week 5 injury report: Five starters have issues

  • WR Chris Conley (oblique)
  • WR Jacob Cowing (shoulder)
  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee)
  • TE George Kittle (ribs)
  • LB Fred Warner (ankle)
  • LB Dee Winters (ankle)

Warner played only 28 snaps (44 percent) in Sunday’s 30-13 win over the New England Patriots after being injured during the game. He still had seven tackles (four solo) while intercepting a pass and having a pass defensed. It appears it’s not a high-ankle sprain as head coach Kyle Shanahan termed him day-to-day on Monday.

“We definitely feel better when it says day-to-day,” Shanahan said. “If it’s a high-ankle sprain or anything like that, you know that’s always some time. I know he is hurting today and stuff, but from the reports and everything when we say day-to-day that gives him a chance to heal up this week.”
