DC Defenders Re-Sign Another Six Players For 2025

The DC Defenders are on a roll. This week alone, they’ve brought back 15 athletes for the 2025 UFL season, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In their latest batch, DC has brought back six more – primarily on the defensive side of the football:

OT Jarrid Williams

With all of the moving pieces on the offensive line for the DC Defenders this past season, Jarrid Williams was one of the best acquisitions of the year. He only played in three games, starting in all of them – and posting excellent blocking grades via PFF (61.8/77.2). Williams played an important role in a key week six victory over the San Antonio Brahmas, helping generate running lanes for that entire backfield as DC’s ground game came to life.

If Jarrid is healthy for the whole season, he’s someone who should have the opportunity to earn a starting role within Fred Kaiss’ offense.

OT John Yarbrough

John Yarbrough has had quite the journey in the spring scene so far. He’s played with the Tampa Bay Vipers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Houston Gamblers, and Houston Roughnecks in the alt-football world so far.

Yarbrough spent the 2023 XFL season with the Roughnecks, starting in four of six games played that year. He made the jump with Wade Phillips & Co. to the San Antonio Brahmas, but saw action in just one outing – and was cut midway through the year. DC picked him up off of waivers, and John ended up playing the final two games with the Defenders. Evidently, they liked what they saw, and now bring Yarbrough back for another season in the red and white.
