JaVonta Payton & Frank Ginda Re-Sign UFL Contracts

Panthers Sign London Harris & Jesus Gibbs, Frank Ginda Out

On Friday, we saw a couple more UFL players re-sign to their respective teams for 2025. WR JaVonta Payton returned to the Arlington Renegades, while the Michigan Panthers re-signed LB Frank Ginda – the former USFL Defensive Player of the Year.

JaVonta Payton is officially back with the Arlington Renegades. It’s a signing that’s been a long time coming, after Payton’s exceptional success with the Renegades this past UFL season.

JaVonta has had a full career in the spring scene so far. He was picked up by the Orlando Guardians ahead of the XFL’s 2023 season – playing in two games there. However, JaVonta was released, and quickly acquired by Arlington. He ended up playing a key role down the stretch of the year, putting up 142 yards and two touchdowns in the postseason as the Renegades took home the XFL Championship.

This year, Luis Perez looked for Payton often. Javonta racked up 379 receiving yards and five scores, proving to be one of the top deep threats in the league. Payton actually struggled with drops – had he been a bit more sure handed, he would’ve had an All-UFL case for himself. On top of that, he missed the last couple of games with a shoulder injury.
