The Birmingham Stallions have had to make a couple of moves. They’ve signed OG Grant Miller and LS William Mote, due to injuries that occurred to those positions this week.
Grant Miller returns to the Stallions, having been with the team in Training Camp. Miller was one of the exciting offseason additions, given his NFL experience and the background of success at the collegiate level. Interestingly enough, Miller signed with the Michigan Panthers – but was cut shortly after joining the team.
Miller was added back to the roster as LaChavious Simmons suffered an injury this week, and has been placed on IR. Simmons was a versatile guard for Birmingham, playing at both left and right guard throughout the first five weeks of action. On 131 snaps, he allowed zero sacks, and just two QB pressures.

With that in mind, Birmingham has brought in William Mote, out of Georgia, to replace him. William has spent some time with the Kansas City chiefs, attending their mini-camp in 2024. Mote was very good at Georgia on field goal snaps, but did struggle on punts, as was noted on his NFL scouting combine profile. That said, he’s been training with long-time NFL veteran Ty Long – who is very confident in his abilities.
GM Paul Roell had to find a way to replace a couple of these players, and not surprisingly brings in…
