The UFL to NFL pipeline in Birmingham is heating up. WR Deon Cain has signed with the Buffalo Bills, following another strong campaign in the UFL with the Stallions.
Cain is no stranger to the city of Buffalo. He signed with the Bills after the 2024 UFL season, and was on and off of the teams practice squad for a few months. With Buffalo dealing with some injuries at WR, it’s no surprise to see them bring Deon back.
Deon Cain has been one of spring football’s best at the WR position for a few years now. Deon joined the Birmingham Stallions for the USFL’s 2023 season. He was a key piece to their Championship run, not just as a wide receiver, but also as a specialist. Cain took two kicks to the house that year, showcasing his unbelievable speed. On top of that, Deon had an outstanding performance in the Championship game against Pittsburgh, earning MVP honors of that game with three touchdowns.
In 2024, Deon returned to the UFL following a stint with the Eagles. He was the top wide out in Skip Holtz’ offense for large chunks of the UFL season, with 33 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns.
2025 told a similar story. Deon earned All-UFL honors, posting tremendous numbers despite the constant revolving door at quarterback in Birmingham. Cain racked up 514 yards and six touchdowns – making contested catch after contested catch this season.
Now, he returns to Buffalo with another opportunity to land on this roster. He’s proven himself time and time again in the spring scene – and is someone to watch closely this preseason in Buffalo.
Cain is the 6th Birmingham Stallions player to sign an NFL contract this offseason. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL movement with our official tracker.
