Big Ten Unveils 2023 Football Schedules

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday (Oct. 26) the conference schedules for the 2023 football season for all 14 schools. The University of Michigan will host four Big Ten games at Michigan Stadium and play five road conference matchups during the year, in addition to three non-conference tilts to start the 144th season of gridiron action.
The Wolverines will host Rutgers in the conference opener at the Big House on Sept. 23 before traveling for a pair of road games against Big Ten West Division opponents Nebraska (Sept. 30) and Minnesota (Oct. 7). The game against the Gophers will be the 98th in series history where the Little Brown Jug will be on the line.
U-M returns to Ann Arbor to face Indiana on Oct. 14 before traveling to East Lansing for their annual Battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy with Michigan State on Oct. 21. The Wolverines will have an open week at the end of October before returning to the field for four straight games in November to end the regular season.
The Maize and Blue will host Purdue at the Big House on Nov. 7 before traveling East on back-to-back weekends for games against Big Ten East Division foes at Penn State (Nov. 11) and Maryland (Nov. 18). The final game of the regular season will be “The Game” against Ohio State on Nov. 25 at Michigan Stadium.
The Big Ten Championship Game will be contested on Dec. 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Michigan opens the 2023 season with three straight non-conference home games: East Carolina (Sept. 2), UNLV (Sept. 9) and Bowling Green (Sept.16).
