The name Herock should be familiar to most Raiders fans. Most recently when Mark Davis called Ken Herock the “ringleader” in the team’s search for a new GM and head coach. Ken’s son is Shaun Herock.
Shaun was the team’s director of college scouting for seven years (2012-18). And now he’s back in a new role. He will hold the title of personnel advisor to the General Manager according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Shaun Herock was the Raiders interim general manager in 2018 when the team let go of Reggie McKenzie and before they hired Mike Mayock. Now Mike Mayock is gone, Dave Ziegler is in, and Herock is back.
Shaun has been a scout at the NFL level since 1994. He spent 18 years as the assistant director of college scouting in Green Bay prior to joining the Raiders in 2012. He’s been a national scout in Cleveland in the four years since he left the Raiders. So, obviously, he brings a lot of experience to the job. Or rather brings *back* a lot of experience.
