It’s a rite of passage within the Ohio State football program for every newcomer to the program. A kid might officially sign a letter of intent with the program, but he’s not considered a part of the brotherhood until he has his black stripe removed.
So, we like to keep track of these types of things. Somewhere there’s an official analysis we need to do on this, but history suggests those that have their black stripes removed early typically go on to some pretty special things with the Buckeye program.
Since we are now deep into spring practice, it means we are starting to see freshmen and transfers have their black stripes peeled off. We like to keep track of them in real-time so you can see who went through the ceremony at what point and what they had to say.
Here’s where things stand for 2022, with updates added as they occur.
