JACKSONVILLE, FLA – The favorite’s role remains unchanged.
But while Aidan Hutchinson remains the most popular choice for the No. 1 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL Draft, that’s hardly a unanimous feeling these days.
Hutchinson, an edge defender from the University of Michigan, was projected to the Jaguars No. 1 by 14 of 22 analysts in this week’s jaguars.com mock draft tracker 14.0. The 2022 NFL Draft will be held April 28-30, with analysts also projecting four other players to the Jaguars No. 1.
“I understand the hype surrounding Travon Walker, but Aidan Hutchinson is still the best EDGE — from Day 1 — in the class. His ceiling may be lower, but Jacksonville needs a steady playmaker, not a boom-or-bust prospect,” James Fragoza of Pro Football Network wrote.
“It’s not quite as obvious this year as it was last year, but the No. 1 pick sure seems like it’s going to be the star edge rusher from Michigan,” Jared Dubin of CBS wrote.
