There are a lot of ups and downs that a college football fanbase will go through during a recruiting cycle.
For the Oregon Ducks, in the days following the visit of 5-star QB Nico Iamaleava Jr., it seemed like a serious possibility that he would end up picking Eugene as a land spot. Of course, he then chose the Tennessee Volunteers weeks later, downing the Ducks’ fanbase.
Just after that, the fans took another hit when it was announced that 5-star QB Jaden Rashada, arguably the next guy on Oregon’s list, was being projected to land with Ole Miss this spring.
Of course, Duck fans know how to weather the storm, and for those who have been patient, some good news has arrived.
According to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Ducks are now the leader in the clubhouse when it comes to landing Rashada.
According to the RPM, Oregon has a 53.3% chance to land the 5-star QB from Pittsburgh, California. Miami is next in line at 28.9%, followed by Ole Miss at 6.7%.
Rashada stands at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, and is the No. 5 QB in the 2023 class. Oregon is hoping to get him to Eugene this coming weekend for the Spring Game, but there is also a chance that they will delay the visit a week or two and potentially be the last campus that Rashada visits before making his commitment.
We will see over the next 24 hours whether or not Rashada confirms his plans to visit or not, but regardless, this is a nice development in his recruitment.
